I have multiple students who are under 13 and cannot add me as a coach. I'd like to avoid creating a new account for them and them losing all of their progress. I tried to make a Google classroom class and import from there, but that is not working. Any ideas? I need to be able to send them assignments and check their progress. Help!
This has been our biggest frustration at our school for the past several years. Last year, none of the teachers were able to see their students work (except for the 3rd graders who had new accounts) because we are an Elementary school and all students are under 13 and therefore cannot add a new coach without parent permission. I understand the reasoning, but it is completely unrealistic even in the best situation to think that parents will create their own account, link it to their child's account, and then find the setting for them to add coaches. Even very involved parents will struggle to do this. And many of our parents don't even have internet access. This NEEDS to be fixed. Please help! Our teachers desperately want to use Khan Academy - but are unable to do so, when they can't coach the students!
I'm having the same issue this year. I've been using Khan Academy for years and have never had this issue until this year. I teach 7th graders, so some of them are under 13. I use Khan as a very helpful tool, but will have to stop using it if this isn't fixed somehow. Did anyone get a response from Khan about this?

If you have students who are under 13 that are using the site, the best solution is to create an account for them via your Teacher Dashboard. This will automatically link their account to your account so you can see their progress.
If the students already have an account created, they can still add you as a coach with parent permission. If their parent is not linked to their account, the will need to visit their settings page and invite their parent. The parent can then add you as a coach.
If the students are unable to invite their parent, you can also submit a support ticket for them so we can manually connect your accounts.
