Supposedly you will get the old version back if you unenroll from all classes.  Of course, that's probably not an option for many students.

(Personally, my account is stuck in Teacher mode and I can't get out of it despite following the steps in the KA article about how to get out of Teacher mode.  KA makes things unnecessarily difficult sometimes and often has a buggy interface.)

go to settings, then scroll to "roles", then click on "teacher/coach" if it is checked. Also, change the homepage option to "learner".

I've tried both of those things (I'm fairly sure those were in the article I referenced).  The Teacher/Coach option is grayed out and I can't uncheck it.  My homepage option was already set to Learner. I also removed both users from my class and deleted the only class I was a coach for, but the Teacher/Coach option is still grayed out.
I submitted a Support Ticket to Khan Academy, and they say there is a bug with my account and they are investigating.  (This is at least the 3rd issue I've had in the last year and a half that doesn't work the way KA says it should, and none of them have ever been resolved, as far as I remember.  I think the site is so complicated that they don't really understand it all.)

I'm not the only user who says they can't uncheck the Teacher/Coach box.  My guess is that this issue is related to the Khan Academy Reimagined rollout that happened for US users on Monday.  Since I haven't yet seen a single comment liking it to counteract all the posts of people (including teachers) hating it, I hope they roll it back.

Yes, but really, what would be the point of Khan Academy without teachers teaching them for most students, even if they got the old dashboard back?

I've been using KA without a teacher for my entire time here.

GUYS I FOUND THE SOLUTION!!! Remove the teacher then ADD THEM BACK, it won't reshow the Khan Academy classroom, at least that's what worked for me.

That would work if you had been in a class with that teacher, because removing the teacher unenrolls from the class.  (I think it would also work to just unenroll from the class.)

I was initially not a teacher, but when the Reimagined Khan rolled out, I decided to enable teacher mode on my account, just to test out the new UI. However, stuff broke and I couldn't access settings for a day because "activation" failed. Apparently this got fixed a day later and I could access settings again, but I was locked into teacher mode, and couldn't exit. My default homepage was still the learner one, but in the menu I could also see the teacher dashboard.

When I tried to mess with API requests to force-turn-off teacher mode, it seems that everything is normal except for my settings, which are stuck in the new UI, and still show teacher mode checked.
