Content Update: AP®︎ Computer Science Principles!
Hi everyone!
I've just released a new course in our computing section: AP®︎ Computer Science Principles.
This review course includes 600+ practice questions, plus instructional articles and videos covering the topics of computers, the Internet, programming, algorithms, and data analysis.
Here are the highlights:
- Mastery: You can repeat each exercise multiple times with new questions until you've mastered a concept, plus demonstrate your mastery with quizzes and unit tests.
- Interactivity: Our instructional articles include interactive widgets for various concepts, like symmetric ciphers, public key encryption, and the traveling salesman problem.
- Pseudocode practice: All the questions in the programming unit are written in AP CSP pseudocode, so that students preparing for the AP exam can practice transferring the programming skills they've learned into the pseudocode used by the exam.
- Standards aligned: All articles and exercises are tagged with their relevant AP standards. You can search by AP standard in the Khan Academy search bar, and teachers can see the standards from the content assignment dashboard.
- Teacher tools: Teachers can assign exercises, articles, or videos and track student completion. They can also preview all the questions in an exercise and drill down into a student’s report to see which questions they struggled with.
This course covers many topics that are new on Khan Academy, like internet protocols, cybersecurity, logic circuits, computer components, and file compression.
I will be adding an additional unit over the summer (on the Global impact of computing) plus iterating based on feedback from teachers and learners (like you!).
There's a lot to explore, whether or not you're in an AP CSP classroom. Hopefully you enjoy exploring the topics as much as I did!
