I wonder if they (the team at KA) put said rule in place to stop Khan Academy from basically becoming a glorified social media site revolving around commenting and socializing (whether spam or not)...

[UPDATE] I managed to fix my problem by changing my birthdate to a different one, saving it, and changing it back to my real one. Hope this helps anyone with the same problem!

This is what I'm seeing BTW    On a project:   On a random course I'm doing:   So there's no text box when I try to comment on projects.
