A question on 4th grade math course challenge asked for the conversion for 70/100 cm to millimeters. I typed in 700 mm (because millimeters is 1000 place values and centi only covers 100.) But it says my answer is wrong, and when I looked at the answer it said 70/100 cm was equal to 7 millimeters... I thought 70/100 cm was equal to 700 millimeters, yet it marked me wrong and now I can't pass with a 100% this round because of an error. Am I wrong or what?

Hi jay!

70/100 cm is equal to 7mm. Here's what you can do:

When converting a large unit (cm) to a small unit (mm), multiply the larger unit by the conversion factor.

So, 70/100 x 10 = 700/100

700/100 = 7/1= 7

(I'm going to a a bit complicated here- well it depends :-D) In the image below, I used dimensional analysis, which is like cross multiplication of conversion factors.
