I absolutely LOVE the videos on KhanAcademy. But, as a teacher I'm finding the exercises are critical to find out if my kids actually understand a subject.
Watching a video doesn't seem to be enough when there is math involved, actually attempting to solve a problem really demonstrates where a student is.
The physics section has wonderful videos, but very few exercises.
Can you please add more physics exercises?
Any update on this? This post was from a year ago. Here are the current stats:
One-dimensional motion - 5 exercises and 41 videos/articles
Two-dimensional projectile motion - 2 exercises and 18 videos/articles
Forces and Newton's laws of motion - 3 exercises and 40 videos/articles
Centripetal force and gravitation - 0 exercises
Work and Energy - 0 exercises
Impacts and linear momentum - 0 exercises
Torque and angular momentum - 0 exercises
Oscillations and mechanical waves - 0 exercises
Fluids - 0 exercises
Thermodynamics - 0 exercises
There are another 20 topics of physics, none of them appear to have any exercises either. So there are literally hundreds of videos on the topic of physics in Khan Academy and only 10 exercises.
You can find more exercises on these topics in AP Physics 1.
One-dimensional motion - 12 exercises
Two-dimensional motion (no "projectile" in the name) - 7 exercises
Forces and Newton's law of motion - 7 exercises
Uniform circular motion (includes Centripetal force) and gravitation - 6 exercises
Work and energy - 11 exercises
Linear momentum and collisions (includes impacts) - 6 exercises
Torque and angular momentum - 13 exercises
Simple harmonic motion/Waves and sound (includes Oscillations and mechanical waves) - 7/12 exercises
Fluids and Thermodynamics are in AP Physics 2, which unfortunately does not have exercises (yet).
Also in AP Physics 1 and appearing in various Physics topics with no exercises:
Electric charge and electric force - 5 exercises
DC Circuits - 9 exercises
Prepare for the AP Physics 1 exam - 7 exercises
The ones from Physics that neither of us mentioned are either in AP Physics 2 (with 0 exercises) or in neither AP Physics 1 nor AP Physics 2.
I did not count the number of videos in the AP Physics 1 course, but they are roughly similar to the number for each topic in Physics.
If you are in the United States, you can find AP Physics 1 under Science when editing your courses. If you are elsewhere, you can probably find it under Science in the Courses menu (top left corner of the Home Page/Dashboard on the web site; through the Science icon in the apps).
