Indeed, subtitles activation is hardcoded into the video url. I have written a userscript for browser to fix it. To use it firstly you will need to install a browser extension to handle userscripts...
@KAEngineer, yes, it's possible. But a new script should be created for that purpose. I may take a look at that later.
@Hodorious, huh, I didn't really expect anyone to use it. It hasn't been working well though (khan academy page updates are little tricky), so I fixed the script and added auto updates support.
