I am trying to make an ASCII animation and I'm experimenting with binary numbers, but the terminal doesn't move with the printed characters so you have to scroll down and if it gets to long it becomes impractical or may even crash the terminal entirely. I was wondering if there could be a command or setting to somehow improve this?
Since Khan Academy decided to make the Python course focused on data rather than graphics or animation, I doubt they will make any changes to make animation work better.
You may be better off finding another place to experiment with animation in Python. Good luck.

I would also appreciate if the text window kept scrolling so the last output is always visible. I’m afraid using this method smooth animations are not feasible, though.
As of 2026 Khan Academy uses Pyodide. In the meantime you can use the JavaScript console. Many browsers have “web developer tools”. They can frequently accessed by pressing F12. You may need to click on “Console”.
from js import console
from time import sleep as sleep
for n in range(50, 0, -1):
#console.clear() # commented out because it flashes.
console.log('Impending doom in', n / 10, 'seconds!')
sleep(0.1)
Keep in mind that the JavaScript foreign function interface is not available in any Python installation, it is a Pyodide thing.
