Thanks for raising these concerns! I'm going to address each of your questions individually below:

Why couldn't I see my post?

Some users are known to have issues loading their discussion history from their profile page, especially if you have a lot of discussion posts or if the programs you have posted on have been hidden from public view. This is a known bug, and unfortunately there's not currently a workaround.

What happens when a guardian hides a post? Is it supposed to be only visible to the poster?

When a Guardian deletes a post, the post remains visible to the post's author and other Guardians, but other users are not able to see the post.

How was I supposed to delete it? Should I just ignore what the guardian said about it?

Whenever you receive a warning message, you should always try to review your discussion history and delete any posts that violate our Community Guidelines. If you're unable to access the posts or your discussion history isn't loading, then don't worry about trying to delete your posts, since we've likely already hidden them.

Could guardians hide posts in the help center too?

Yes, we can delete posts in the Help Center that do not adhere to the Community Guidelines. Posts in the Help Center are permanently deleted, rather than simply hidden though.

What if a person doesn't know what post the guardian was referring to in a message?

We try to be as specific as we can when we send warning messages, and usually we'll provide links to the posts in question if the warning is about a specific incident. For general low-quality posting, we don't always provide links. If you're not sure about what posts the warning is referring to, the best thing to do is review your recent discussion history and the Community Guidelines. Otherwise, you can reach out via a support ticket for further clarification if needed.

What is flagging really? How should we view or think of it?

The flag feature is simply a way for you to report content that violates our Community Guidelines. In general, if you think something breaks our guidelines (even if you're not 100% sure) you can flag the post so we can review it. As long as you're not just randomly flagging posts, there's not really a way to get in trouble for inappropriately flagging content. You can't undo a flag, but if we review the post and it adheres to all of our guidelines we can remove the flags.

Could I flag myself?

No, I don't believe so. But if you somehow manage to do this, there's no need to worry unless your post violates our guidelines (in which case you should delete it anyways!)

Is there a way for a person to communicate with a guardian who messaged him?

No, there is not a direct way to respond to a Guardian message. If you need further clarification about a specific message, you can submit a support ticket and we can discuss the issue with you privately. For general moderation questions (such as the ones you've posted here), you can make a new post in the support community.

What about banning?

We ban users for extreme violations of our guidelines or for repeated violations after several warning messages. In the latter case, you will typically receive a notification that you have been banned, as well as a link to an appeal form so you can re-earn your discussion privileges after a certain length of time.

How does follow work?

I believe the reason your response to the survey wasn’t visible was because the survey was hidden.
