Class Code_where to have students login

Hello Brooke! My name is Lisa Krueger and I am a Khan Academy Ambassador teaching in Chicago. If your students do not have email accounts you will need to create accounts for them under the Manage Students tab once you've create the class.

1. Click class
2. Click Add Students
3. For students without emails
4. Add student names
5. Click Next
6. Here you can change the Passwords
7. Then click Create Accounts - I would take a screen shot of this page so you have the usernames & passwords for your records. The print features does not include passwords.
8. Click Done Adding Students

I absolutely can not find anyway for my students to login in. I see Lisa Krueger's comments below, but I have done that. I set up my class under no student emails and I still have absolutely no idea how my students can login.  I have been working on it for the last 3 days to no avail. The student user names and passwords do not work to log the students in.  Is there anyone who has figured out how to get your students logged in?? If so, could you please share how? I would love to get my students started with Khan Academy this week, but so far no luck figuring out how to get them logged in.

Where and how do I login? I've been battling to log a student in. I would like for her to get started but cannot login!! Desperate.

Hello Laura! I am sorry to hear you are struggling to get students logged in. I understand from your post you've created usernames & passwords and have attempted to have students log in to their accounts. When the students go to http://www.khanacademy.org and click the Sign in / Sign up link in the top right corner and enter their usernames and passwords what happens. Can you take a screen shot and send upload it? I am sure together we can figure this out. Thank you for posting. 

Hello Ina! Have you created a class? Does the student have a username and password? What grade is the student in? Have either of you used KA before? Sorry I know its a lot of questions but I'd really like to get both of you up and running. Thank you for posting. 

Hi Lisa, thank you for your reply to my desperate efforts to login. I won't be bothering KA anymore, I registered for ixl. You have to pay a small fee but everything works and my students are delighted.

Last year I used Khan Academy with my students, but this year getting them logged in is like taking a physics test.  Why so complicated?  Not at all user friendly.  What is the point of creating a program if no one can figure out how to work it.

Too bad, because KA used to be awesome before they restructured their site a few years ago. It is too complicated these days!

Hello!  2 years later I am having the same issue.  When I click Sign In on the app, the only options are through email, there is NO option to log in with username/Password OR class code.  Where do you find that type of log-in?

I am glad I am not the only one who is having trouble logging in.

I see Lisa Kreuger's post from 4 months ago and I can get to that screen that she shows.  None of the student logins and passwords that were created work for this.  

I keep getting "your login or password is incorrect" in red letters.

I feel like there should be a place where I enter the class code but I don't see it. 

Is there some other way to log in?   

I have done lots of online learning programs with students (xtramath, prodigy, etc) and they all have straightforward and intuitive login procedures.  Please help me out with this one.  I feel like I am missing something.

Very old thread but I have the same issue with finding where the students can log in. It is NOT the same login that the "Khan Academy helpers" give you. It's almost like they don't understand the question. Anyways, this is where your student login is. https://www.khanacademy.org/join 

You can enter their usernames/pswds or class codes.

I found the answer!!! Took me forever to find it.  

• Go to https://www.khanacademy.org/ 
• Click Sign
• Do you see at the bottom, Enter Class Code?
• There you go!
• up

I found that too, but it still doesn't work. Even after I click the class code, it won't allow for a student to login.

I'm having the same log in troubles, for some reason. I was just able to log my son in, and now it's only asking for my email address. I see him in my profile but cannot figure out how to log him in with just his username and password without asking me for my email address. This is frustrating. HELP!

Are you still unable to log in to your son's Khan Academy account? If you do, please try the following:

• Clear your cookies and cache
• Disable any browser extension that could be causing the page to not load correctly.
• Access the site using a different browser (Khan Academy works best on Google Chrome!)

Hello all,

I had the same problems with logins for students!  We all use the same computer, and I found that I needed to make sure I was logged out of the teacher account completely, then click back on the "login" button.  Then, you enter their unique username (instead of an email), and their assigned passwords.  (It helps to have it written out for all of the kiddos where they won't lose it, and in the excel sheet you download when setting up the class so you can get them in "when" it does get lost.)  I absolutely love khanacademy, and what it stands for.  I am currently pursuing my PhD (while schooling kiddos at home), and I never would have made it through undergrad math without khanacademy.  (This was back when it was just videos etc., before it got all fancy).  Now that it is kid friendly:  I just want to say kudos to those that are putting so much into this!  You are ALL ROCKSTARS, and are touching more lives than you will ever know!
