US History prep for the SAT Subject test. AP or not?

I decided to take the US History SAT Subject test. I am using Khan Academy in order to be ready. Is studying simple US History (not AP)for the test enough? Do I need to study AP for the SAT?

Note: I am an international student so i don't take any US History classes in school

Hi Peter,

The US History content provides a general overview of US History. The AP version will include more details, however it will not have as much content as the regular version since it is designed to prepare for the AP Exam.

If you're taking the US History Subject Test I'd recommend working through the regular US History section.
