I need a U.S. History Mission and a World History Mission

I need U.S. History as a mission If I can get that this week that would be great! I work at an inner city school. I teach three classes of seniors at MERVO in Baltimore City. I am just getting in the class October 19th because the last teacher left and they had to find a replacement. I really found Khan's resources helpful and I would like to give my students a mission as they go on the winter break. I only have them two weeks after the break is over and I really need them to know this material when they finish the course. If there is any way you can help me with this I would appreciate it. I really want to see these kids do well and I need your help. This is a required course for them to graduate and really we have all worked really hard to get these kids this far. I want them to graduate on time but I need to know that they have this content before they do. Please help!!

Hi Erica, thanks for your message! I am sorry that you're in a tough position here.

It won't be possible for us to create missions in these areas in such a short time period, but I can tell you that as of today every tutorial in US history has an associated quiz, so you can direct your students to check their knowledge through those.

We're still working on World History and anticipate having a complete course by the end of next year. In the meantime, the Crash Course materials on the site are brief but they are very entertaining so you'll have a better shot of getting high school students to stick with them. :) This will at least provide an overview and a starting place for them to find some more topics in history that interest them.

If I think of any other online resources that might be a help in the meantime I will let you know.

I don't think they could possibly get that up and running in a week but I agree that having mastery challenges and missions for all subjects that demonstrate completion and knowledge of material would be good for parents, teachers, and students as a way to measure current ability and progress.

I'm sorry about the circumstances those students are in as well as the predicament it puts you in. The way the United States treats education is a complete joke.
