This also bugs me. There's a work around with javascripts for firefox and chrome but they randomly stop working and you have to reinstall. I wish they'd fix this. Doesn't seem like it should be too...

The above answer does nothing but change your default settings for direct youtube videos. Khanacademy has a glitch that auto activates subtitles. Needs a fix. Is there a way to report this bug (not...
