How to I get my child’s grade?

As you gain mastery points in a course, it will indicate the percentage complete total in the courses menu as well as unit completion the learner home.

Since Khan Academy is a mastery-based learning platform, the learning system does not assign traditional grades or scores to students. Instead, students work through course content at their own pace (or along with assignments created by their teacher) with the goal of achieving 100% mastery in the course.

Mastery progress is made by correctly answering questions in the practice exercises, quizzes, and unit tests. The articles and videos are supporting content to help the student learn the concepts, but do not contribute to overall mastery progress. You can learn more about how the Mastery System works here.

As a parent, you can view your child's Activity Report, which allows you to see their time spent working on the site and change in mastery levels after completing a practice item. You can learn more about this in our Parent Quick Start Guide. If you're wanting to assign specific content and view more detailed mastery reports, you'll need to use the teacher tools instead, which can be accessed via the Teacher Dashboard after enabling the teacher role in your account settings.
