Make it so you can reset an exercise with one missed question again

When I am doing an exercise, sometimes I will fail the very first question. When this happens, I want to reset the exercise, but I am stopped by the pop up telling me I can still reach proficient if I answer the bonus question. In the case where I reset at the second or third question, this makes some sense, as resetting would lose some progress, but on the first question, resetting doesn't lose any progress, it just restores the bonus question "barrier" against missed questions. This means that in order to get the "barrier" back, I have to intentionally answer the second question wrong, view the solution, and enter it just to reset the exercise.
My preferred solution would actually be to restructure exercises so they just keep showing questions until 4 of the most recent 5 are answered correctly, but I don't think that's very realistic, so I offer the solution in the title as an alternative. Please, make it so you can reset an exercise with one missed question again.
