Our daughter is a 7th grader in a private school and would like to complete this school year on-line to focus on her horseback riding. We are new to on-line education and would appreciate any advice/thoughts from other parents who have planned this transition for their children. Topics of interest are scheduling, school day structure etc. It is daunting to say the least, but not impossible I am sure.... Thanks!
It would be a good idea to make a schedule of each day, for what subjects to learn at what time, when to have breaks, lunch, horseback riding, etc. Make sure that your daughter gets enough time off the screen, as starting at a screen for long periods of time is terrible for the eyes.
Another good idea is to look for the curriculum of your previous school to know what to learn, and it will help your daughter easily fit back in once you go back.
In my opinion, learning at a school has a lot of benefits over homeschooling, but Khan Academy is great and sometimes I find it is even better than in class.
