Unable to attach my email to my child's account, as instructed to do so by the instructions on khan academy.....

I need help with how to attach my child's account to my email. I followed the instructions given on khan academy, and I am not showing up on my child's page.
And this in turn is directly affecting my ability to assign her school work. I guess on what is the 'old' interface, my daughter is there, in my class. but there is no way to assign her work.
On the 'new' interface, she is not on my list. I am rather confused.
I try to add her, and then this problem comes into play. seems like a vicious loop.
On what I am calling the 'old' interface, where there is assignments, none of the assignments listed are clickable. I cannot select or highlight any of them.
At the top of that page, there is a note saying there is a new dashboard for parents, go there and add your child.   I do that, and my child all of a sudden is not on my list, and I cannot add her because of the glitch in me being added as her parent. very frustrating.
I have done the email thing to add myself like 3 times now.
