Why does my program say it has spin-offs, but I can't see a single one of them?

Recently, I noticed that people were telling me they made a spin-off of my program, but I couldn't see any of them unless they gave me the link. Is just me that's having this problem? This doesn't happen all the time, but it's really frustrating when it says I have 24 spin-offs but when I click to see them all, it says there aren't any. By another program, it says I have -1 spin-offs. What does that even mean?

And the third thing I noticed, is that this program says it has 4 spin-offs, and it only shows one.

It's causing a lot of problems for me because in order to see the score someone got for a game (or in my case, how people decorated the Frostine avatar), it doesn't work to just use the link.

Is there anything I can do about it?

I've noticed the same thing, although I know the answer. Khan Academy doesn't feel like there is a need to show any programs without anything new in them. So, when there is something like spin-off proof where someone didn't change a single thing, it is hard for you to see the program without going into the projects page, where you can see the spin-off.

There's obviously spin-offs, as someone in the questions of "Design Your own Frostine" posted that he/she had a spin-off. I do know why that is frustrating, but it would be too many projects in the "spin-offs" section if you showed all projects, modified or not.

Hi Magma,

Thanks for explaining. Is this a recent thing? I remember many games using spin-off proof in the past.

Also, I saw your article about the removal of backgrounds. I totally agree. The new avatars were unnecessary, I'd much rather keep my background. Maybe it will be temporary.

No, it hasn't really been a recent thing, as far as I know. Some people may have altered the code a teensy bit for that.
