Public Education in Honduras
Hello, I hope you and your family are well. I am writing on behalf of my country’s Ministry of Education. I live in Honduras, and I have been teaching Math for 30 yrs. I am volunteering to support my country in COVID-19, as I have a lot of experience developing curriculum, training private and public-school Math Teachers and teaching Math. Due to COVID-19, all our schools are closed, and since the public-school academic period is from Feb.-Nov. we need to find a way to get our students to learn at home. Honduras is a poor country, and most of our Public-School students do not have access to the internet (or cannot afford it), neither do they have digital device at home in which to use the internet. It is because of this, that we are going to transmit our classes via TV. We are looking for resources to transmit, and since I have worked with Khan Academy (and really like it) , I suggested using many of the videos (in Spanish) of Khan Academy. Even though the platform is free, we would still like your permission to do so.
After the COVID emergency my country, hopefully, will continue a project whose goal is to have all public schools connected to the internet, if that happens, we would love to have a collaboration with Khan Academy.
I am currently volunteering my time and knowledge for the COVID emergency, as I have volunteered before for different projects involving Public Education, thus I am available 24/7.
