If using google classroom, do students need classroom codes?

If you import your roster from Google Classroom, you do not need to give them a class code. For instructions on how to do this, please see this article.

Otherwise, if you don't want to import your entire Google Classroom roster, you can always have them join using the class code. Once they create their account, they will need to enter this code on the Teachers tab on their homepage.

Thank you for the quick reply!  I have imported my classes and see that some students are in and some just show their google emails (which they do not have access to through the school). Sounds like once they make an account they will show up in my class, correct?

Yes, once they've signed in using the Google sign-in option they should automatically be added to your class. If you're just seeing their email at the top of your student list, that means the invite is still pending and that they have not yet joined.
