Hi Emcodonald. You can always make recommendations to your students for specific content that matches your curriculum and instruction.
The power of Khan Academy is choice, where learners can be self-directed and choose which area / math domain to work on. With that said, after you make recommendations (and have the option to include a due date), your students can definitely be self-directed with their learning. It was a great way for my students to be active learners and demonstrate a growth mindset.
