I'm so frustrated and overwhelmed.
1. Does a student need to be attached to a course BEFORE an assignment can be assigned?
2. My students are currently attached to 1 course. Grammar. But I'm seeing some math that I somehow figured out how to assign once and now I can't remember how I figured that out so all I'm seeing on my end is that my students have grammar in their courses and nothing in their assignments.
We are a brand new Acton Academy and I'm completely lost.

If you haven't already, I suggest taking a look at our Khan for Educators course and the Getting Started guide. These resources contain a complete walkthrough of our Assignment and Course Mastery features, so this is a great starting point if you are new to the site!
In response to your questions:
1. You can create assignments before your students join and they will automatically receive all active (not past-due) assignments upon joining. You can assign content from any course available on the site, without needing to assign a Mastery Goal or needing to add the course to the students' accounts.
2. Can you provide a little more info as to how you are planning on using Khan Academy? Are your students working on both Grammar and Math content, or just one of those? Do you want them to work on specific content or just work through the entire courses on their own?

I am so frustrated also!
What is the difference between assignments & courses? Why are they seperate? Why can I not click on my students course & assign work from there? How can I clear their progress that I deleted a course for? Do I need to set up a class for each of my homeschoolers? The "help center" is NOT helpful! Is there a step by step guide that will walk me through and answer my questions as they arise? I am so overwhelmed! I have 5 children as different levels with every subject. Why is there no help line to a live person?
