I started having my 5th grade children do 30 minutes of Khan Academy every school day and 1 hr every non-school day since November. They have been doing wonderful and making great progress. They would alternate their studies with every other day being math and the days in between would rotate other study areas. They finished 5th grade and they have moved onto 6th grade and Pre-algebra. Aside from their mastery of the skills as they progress, is there a way to challenge their retention of the information through Khan Academy such as an assessment test?

Hello Eric! My name is Lisa Krueger and I am a Khan Academy Ambassador teaching in Chicago! I think it great that your children have already completed the 5th grade curriculum and that you encouraged them to push their learning further in math as well as experience the other subject matter Khan Academy offers. Currently Khan Academy does not have the capacity to administer assessments. Our school district uses NWEA to show growth with a BOY (Beginning of Year) and EOY (End of Year) assessments as well as the PARCC (state mandated assessment). If your children take similar assessments then their performance on those assessments will demonstrate their retention. Hopefully this helps.
