I have an object that I would like to find the volume of.

I could use the Disc Method in calculus to determine this, but how would I go about determining the formula of the curve that makes up the side of the object?

I've had other situations where I wanted to apply calculus or algebra, but I've always been stumped by how to determine the algebraic formula for either a shape or a list of data points.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated?

Is this a physical thing? If so, you can't really use Calculus (at least I don't think) because there isn't a sure way to get the equation for the curve of the object (unless you had some sort of super precision machine). I assumed that theory was more meant for confirming a calculation or making arbitrary formulas.

However! However! However! You can instead (assuming this object isn't too big) use a measuring tube marked with mL. mL can also be translated into cm^3. Fill the tube with water and drop the object into it. Then measure the difference.

Of course, this may destroy the object depending on what the object is. I do have a basic/baby understanding of Calculus so take this with a grain of salt.
