Why am I having so much trouble doing Numbers in expanded form?
Hi: I know it has been a long time that I had Pre-Algebra, 1st and 2nd-year algebra, Geometry and Trig. I am looking about 50 or so years ago. I can ace most of the practice session but it comes to reasoning and some word problems, my mind goes blank I have always been pretty good in math and you would think that would stay with me. Boy, am I wrong. I decided to do all the practice problems which there are tons of it. It is a good review for me. Although, I am not taking a formal course in math, I enjoy doing it and would help me greatly as I am taking a Physics course which I like. Math is required doing it and algebraic equations have to be done. I don't know how many times I asked for hints and viewed the section videos. The instructor gives great examples but still, I am stuck. I want to unstuck myself and not get hung up on it. What I am doing is basic math and I should know how to do it. I may be asking too much for myself and not worry about getting 100 % correct. But, I tend to go overboard and spend so much time with it. I guess I try to be perfect. It is a good thing that these courses are not time-limited. Here is a snapshot of the problem. I know the answer to the problem which is 104,885. To break it down into chart form is making me crazy. Any help would be appreciated.
\Thanks,
Mel
