US money

As someone outside of the US I'm finding counting US coins extremely frustrating. I'm having to guess the amounts as nowhere on the coin does it display a unit of worth. It just says "quarter" or "nickle" "dime", how am I meant to know what they are worth?  It would be extremely helpful if non-US money was included or if the worth of the coin was placed in brackets next to the picture.
