We've been gradually rolling this feature out to the community, so some of you might have been seeing this for a while, but it's now live for 100% of US users! (We'll be rolling it out more broadly as we internationalize the grade levels and subject mapping.)

Now when you first log in to Khan Academy, you can tell us all of your subjects you’re taking and we’ll customize your Khan Academy dashboard with lesson units to help you all year long.

Here’s an example of a high school senior’s dashboard after they’ve selected their classes:

And here’s how you can set that up.

When you first log in to Khan Academy, we’ll ask your grade so we can narrow down the subjects to choose from:

Next, we’ll show you the list of subjects most relevant to your grade. Press “Show All” to see all of the subjects for a particular category. Be sure to select all of the classes you’re taking or interested in learning more about — you can learn much more than math on Khan Academy ;-)

Once you’ve selected your subjects, they’ll appear on your Learning home.

We’ll track your progress through the subject and help you pick up where you last left off. To see the full list of topics in your subject, press “See all”.

You can change the list of subjects on your Learning home at any time by pressing “Edit” or “Add another subject”. At the start of each new school year, we’ll remind you to update the subjects you’re studying.

You can now find your “Recent Missions” and “Recent Topics” below your new “My Subjects” area.

I like it, I keep my subjects there for easy access.

Are there any plans to use the "grade" you input in step one in Mastery Challenge recommendations? This would be an awesome addition, that way the system knows where you stand and recommends more relevant skills in the challenges.

For example, if a student was in 6th grade but doing the 1st grade mission, maybe the challenges throw in some 6th grade level skills during the 1st grade challenges. This could also keep super advanced skills out of challenges if a grade has been specified, so they don't get any calculus skills in their 6th grade challenges.

I was very excited about choosing a grade mainly because of this possibility, I hope it is considered!

I think it's a good idea, but I wish it would show the progress based on skills/challenges, not including videos. If I am able to complete all the skills in a topic without watching the videos, it should show it as done because I don't need to watch the videos if I already know how to do it.

Jett, I think that if you are doing a mission, it should only show you skills that are in that mission. For example, if I'm in the statistics mission because I want to strengthen this area, I don't want to be seeing calculus content just because the system thinks statistics is too easy for me. I do think that in the "world of math" mission it should recommend stills based on your math level.

This is a great idea but I wish that it was such that if I choose a grade you only list what I need to learn in that grade. So if I am in grade 3 and I choose arithmetic for example, it should not list negative numbers because you don't teach negative numbers in grade three. As it is I am confused about what computer programming lessons I should learn in grade 1 or what algebra lessons are appropriate for grade 4 etc. I am currently learning Math on Khan Academy and the fact that you list your math according to grades is useful to me. I would like to learn other subjects and it would help to know which lessons of world history are appropriate for the particular grade I am doing. The way you are currently doing it is that, I chose a grade and you let me know if for example world history is appropriate for that grade but you don't let me know what exactly I should be learning of world history in a particular grade. Thanks.

I like this feature very much =) It makes it easier for student to work on areas that they really don't know, rather than spending a lot of time completing skills that they have already known.

But I have one question here. I have completed the 'Multiplication and division' in the arithmetic (100% in all practices, quizzes, unit tests), yet on my dashboard, it still show the 'Resume' button on 'Multiplication and division', but not 'negative numbers'. Hence, every time when I click 'resume' button, it will lead me to 'Multiplication and division', and I have to click 'Go to unit' then only I can start my 'negative numbers'.

Is it due to my 'Multiplication and division' only has 28/61 completed?

This article will explain why:

"We've been steadily adding new content to the Khan Academy library all year, and this summer we'll be updating the corresponding math missions to reflect this.

This means that your mission progress % will likely go down since the denominator of skills will increase (so say, instead of mastering 90 out of 100 skills, you'll now have mastered 90 out of 110, which would reduce your percentage from 90% to 82%). You'll still have mastered the same number of skills as before, you'll just have additional ones to complete now.

We expect the drop to be between 0% and 20% depending on the mission and the student. More typically, students will see a 3% to 5% drop in their progress percentage."

At the current time it doesn't seem like it and when I tried it had a message that said they aren't able to track 10 subjects yet.
