How can administrators use performance reports?
Performance reports help administrators understand how students are performing at different levels, including across districts, schools, and individual classes.
Access performance reports
- Click your name and select Administrator dashboard
- Click Assessments
- Select an assessment
- Click the Performance tab
Understand the different report tabs
Within the assessment view, you can switch between several report tabs:
- Completion to track assessment completion across schools and classes
- District overview to see performance across all schools in a district
- School overview to view performance for a specific school
- Performance to explore detailed results for a specific class
Start with the performance overview
At the top of each report (District overview, School overview, or Performance), you’ll see a summary of results.
This includes:
- Average overall score
- Scores by domain (for example: Expressions, Functions, Statistics)
- A score distribution chart
Scores range from 700–900.
Use this section to quickly understand overall performance and where students are clustered.
Understand performance levels
Student scores are grouped into three performance levels:
Algebra 1
- Beginning: 700–784
- Approaching: 785–819
- Demonstrating: 820–900
Geometry
- Beginning: 700–794
- Approaching: 795–824
- Demonstrating: 825–900
What these levels mean
- Beginning: Students have some foundational skills but are performing below grade-level expectations. They demonstrate limited understanding of grade-level standards and require significant instructional support to build toward proficiency.
- Approaching: Students have a good grasp on some grade-level standards, but have not yet achieved consistent performance across all expectations. They are approaching grade-level proficiency and need targeted support to address remaining gaps.
- Demonstrating: Students demonstrate proficiency across the full range of grade-level standards. They consistently meet or exceed expectations and can independently apply their knowledge and skills in various contexts.
Review performance across schools and classes
Below the overview, you’ll see a table with results.
The table changes depending on the selected report:
- In District overview, results are grouped by school
- In School overview, results are grouped by class
- In Performance, results are focused on a specific class
This includes:
- School or teacher and class name
- Students who started and completed
- Average overall score
- Scores by domain
View detailed class performance
In the Performance tab, you can select a specific school, teacher, and class to explore more detailed results.
This view includes additional tabs such as:
- Class overview
- Student performance
- Student growth
- Explain Your Thinking
- Engagement
These views provide more detailed insights into student performance for a specific class.
What administrators can view
- Engagement data is visible in the Performance tab for a selected class
- Explain Your Thinking insights are also available within class-level views
Engagement data and Explain Your Thinking insights are available in class-level views. For deeper analysis and instructional use, teachers can explore these reports within their own dashboards.
Use this report to identify differences
You can use performance reports to:
- Identify differences in performance across schools or classes
- Spot patterns across domains
Troubleshooting missing data
If you’re not seeing expected results:
- Confirm students have completed the assessment
- Check back after more students finish
