Khanmigo can understand and respond in multiple languages, and Khan Academy’s free teacher tools are also available in many of those same languages.

This article explains how to change the language Khanmigo uses and lists the languages that are supported for both Khanmigo and the teacher tools experience.

How to set Khanmigo’s response language

You can change the language Khanmigo uses in two ways:

Option 1: Use your Khanmigo settings

  1. Go to teacher tools and open any tool
  2. Select the three vertical dots near the top right of the tool
  3. Select preferences
  4. Scroll to the Language section
  5. Choose your preferred language from the dropdown
  6. Your selection will be saved for future chats

Option 2: Ask Khanmigo directly in a chat

You can also switch languages at any time by typing a message, such as:

“Please respond in Spanish.”
“Can you speak to me in French?”
“Use Urdu from now on.”

Khanmigo will continue in that language until you ask it to switch again.
