Which languages can you use for Khanmigo activities?

Depending on your subscription, role, and selected language, most Khanmigo activities are available in English, Spanish, Hindi, and Portuguese.

Khanmigo is available in several more languages listed below! However, these are experimental. You may experience occasional errors or other quality-related issues.

Khanmigo is also available in the following languages:

Arabic, Azerbaijani, Bangla, Bulgarian, Burmese, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, French, Georgian, German, Greek, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Kazakh, Khmer, Korean, Kyrgyz, Latvian, Lithuanian, Mongolian, Norwegian Bokmål, Odia, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Urdu, Uzbek, Vietnamese

How do I change the language?

There are two ways:

  1. You can change the language settings on your Khan Academy account.
    • Note that this works for the listed languages except for Urdu and Arabic
    • This impacts the language your Khan Academy experience is in
  2. You can change the language Khanmigo responds in which works for all the above listed languages including Urdu and Arabic.
    • In any Khanmigo activity, select the three dots located near the top right
    • Select "Preferences"
    • Select your language
    • Note that this only impacts the language Khanmigo responds in

Keep in mind that the language settings feature is a work in progress. We’re continuously improving it to provide a better experience.

What about speech-to-text/text-to-speech?

Text-to-speech only works if you have set your language to English, Spanish, Hindi, or Portuguese.

Speech-to-text only works for English, no matter what language you select.
