New Subject - Technical Writing

Great idea! Technical writing would be an excellent addition to our course variety, and would be very helpful to students looking to improve their skills and apply their knowledge in the real world. Khan Academy is always looking to provide assistance to students, especially in areas that are typically not covered by the school system. This being said, it may be some time before a course on technical writing develops. Until then, check out our videos on grammar and test preparation.

Technical writing is a great career skill to have and I'm all for adding vocational skills and training. "Technical writer" (as well as underwriter) are positions I have seen in job listings where I live and having training in it could potentially help someone perform better in those tests and land careers.

Agreed. Writing is extremely important for students, especially when applying to colleges. Many, many, MANY students feel stuck and reluctant when writing personal essays to get accepted into their dream school. I wish this were more addressed during college admissions prep.
