Why aren't captioning/subtitles available on the videos of the Khan Academy app?

I was wondering why there isn't captioning/subtitles ON the videos of the Khan Academy app, but instead transcripts below/outside the video. It makes it harder to follow the video while still reading the captions.

I'm sorry to hear that you are upset over not having subtitles on the app. At this time only transcripts are available in the app.
