How to amplify the strength of magnetic field?

I have a science project where I chose to make a drone, but I wanted to try to use the Earth's Magnetic Field to obtain lift somehow. But, I realized that the Earth's Magnetic Field is quite weak. I think there should be a way to amplify it's strength like how a step-up transformer is able to increase voltage. Can someone tell me whether or not it is possible and how?
