How to assign lessons to kid

I am very new - I made my kid do some work on the get ready for 4 th grade and I see the progress on my dashboard but it doesn’t show as completed on his end. Do I need to make him go in through his account. I think although I set up an account for him and myself can’t quite understand how to switch in between both.

That's correct! He will need to log in to his own account to complete any content that you assign to him in order for it to be marked as completed on his end.

If you're wanting to assign specific content items to him, then I suggest using the Teacher tools rather than the Parent dashboard, since this allows you to create assignments and gives better reporting features.
