Recently when I go on khan academy and I have notifications, but the circle that usually has the number of notifs in it is blank and the top left of the tab also doesn't have the number of notifications is this just because they are still in the process of switching between Python and Go or something else.

This was a new release; the notifications are now displayed with a blue circle that doesn't show the number of updates.
That said, as part of our Support Community improvement project, we’re preserving inactive posts that have historical or community value and closing them to new comments. This is one of them!
