I have used it before. I typically have them send me screen shots of their "progress" by seeing the scope and sequence colors changing as they complete the topic. I would assign a 1 paragraph summary upon completion of a unit. 

I hear though that all content will be assignable very soon. You can possibly see grades and percentage complete with the new upgrade for the 17-18 school year.
