How should I keep track of the number of skills mastered?

No. 1…you can’t keep track of how many skills are mastered. You can see how many mastered/proficient skills you have by calculating your level, but that’s it.

No. 2: if you master thousands of skills, you will probably get a black hole badge. Although I think that they’re calculated on proficient…but I’m not sure. Anyways, no harm in it. You might also earn some retired badges if they bring them back.

Bookworm:

1: That's too bad. I need to figure it out as I set my progress on the 3 goals I have set up:

• Earn 10,000,000 energy points.
• Reach a course level of 100.
• Master 5,000 skills.

2: You're on the right track, but they're calculated on mastery.

Yeah. Well, so far there’s no way of tracking them. Only proficient plus mastered.
Those are some nice goals! Good luck! 😁

Oh, are they? My bad. I thought that some were mastery, and some were proficient.

Those are incredible long-term goals, adrielman13!

Since Khan Academy doesn't have a single 'Total Skills Mastered' counter on your profile once you max out the Sun badge milestones, here are a couple of ways you can track it:

1. Track by Course Progress: On your Learner Dashboard, each course card shows your exact progress (e.g., '35 / 42 skills mastered'). You can keep a quick spreadsheet or note to sum up the mastered skills from all your active/completed courses.

2. Check Course Breakdown Pages: When you open a specific course, the progress bar breaks down your skills by status (Not Started, Familiar, Proficient, Mastered), making it easy to log your exact count.

As for what happens when you master thousands of skills—beyond earning those rare Black Hole badges, you're building an unbelievable foundation of knowledge across subjects! Keep pushing toward that 5,000 skill mark!

At least it seems to have gotten all its facts correct this time.
