Does setting a course Mastery Goal influence student work if I am making individual assignments?

Because we are using Khan now as distance learning, we are assigning limited parts of the course rather than the entire course.  If I set Mastery Goals for my students will their dashboard use that goal setting to inspire them to redo individual assignments? Or do they need to just go into their dashboard and Try Again just because they want to get a better score?
