My guess is it's because different languages are technically on different sites, so mastery will not be the same. Not the best for multilingual people.

In total, probably thousands. To find out how many there are in any given course easily, divide the number of available mastery points by 100 (since you get 100 points for each skill you master).

No problem, and I see where you're coming from. It does only have a few skills. However, like you said, I think it's the best option if you want this to be fast.
