Answers to the question: Why am I learning this kind of math if I am never going to use it in the real world?
Hey, guys! I saw a question that was asked three years ago, but I think can still apply to many of us today. Am I ever going to need this type of math in the real world?
Here is my answer: I would like to encourage all of you that what you are learning in your middle school or high school years is never useless. Even if you never decide to major in math, by doing the hard work of learning it now you are actually growing and expanding your mind's capabilities. Math teaches you problem solving skills, gives you lessons on the importance of following rules, and broadens your mind's capabilities to learn new things. Your mind is a muscle. Whenever you learn something new, you are exercising and strengthening your mind. By learnign math, you are preparing your mind to carry heavier loads in the future and expanding the possibilities of where your career could take you.
