Full course catalog inaccessible — adult learner blocked by regional curriculum
Hi,
I’m an adult learner using Khan Academy from India, and I’m currently restricted to Maharashtra State Board content (Classes 1–12).
I’m not preparing for any board exams, and I don’t care about state-specific curricula. I’m here to learn independently and explore subjects like higher mathematics, computer science, economics, and other global courses that Khan Academy is known for.
Right now, there is no clear way to:
- Access the full global course catalog
- Switch out of the Maharashtra-specific curriculum
- Browse or enroll in non–board-based courses
This is honestly annoying as hell. It makes the platform feel unnecessarily locked down for people who just want to learn and are not part of any school system.
I’d like clear answers on the following:
- Why are adult learners being forced into regional school content?
- How can I access the full platform without these restrictions?
- If there is no way, why is Khan Academy limiting access like this?
Khan Academy is supposed to be an open learning platform, and this experience goes directly against that.
Please provide a proper solution or workaround.
Thanks.
