My class is 1:1 iPads, and we are currently hybrid, so kids have two days a week on the school wifi, and the rest of the time at home. We have Khan apps loaded onto their devices.
We're seeing lots of loading issues accompanied (sometimes) by the raincloud picture ("oh no! We're having trouble loading this content!", says Cloudy McCloudface the cloud) on the app. Kids and adults have tried the following tactics to solve the issue: restart, disconnect and reconnect to wifi at school (or home), use web-based Khan instead of the app, and signing out and signing back into Khan through the web. We have not tried stabbing it with steely knives to kill the beast, but we may have thought about it, since we see Cloudy pretty regularly, and he takes us out of our mathy nirvana state. Sometimes there is a short reprieve after a restart or a wifi disconnect and reconnect, but the problems have always come back, and for some kids (not all), it is pretty constant, occurring after almost every exercise. Lots of lost math time waiting...
We are not seeing this behavior with other apps or other web uses. And the fact that this is occurring and recurring mostly with the same students (perhaps 6 of 18) has me wondering if something is incompatible with home wifi settings...?
Any ideas about how we might solve this? Are others seeing similar issues?
