I have found out that the immortality of cell exists. Also, I know that there is a cell, which has got Hayflick limit. These cells can die, because after a certain amount of divisions they can't do this again. My question is how they are different in their biological structure. What makes the cell immortal?
Hi dimas.karpusss, there are a number of articles and videos under Embryonic stem cells and other places on Khan Academy which discuss, among others, how cancerous cells are different from non-cancerous cells, and what makes cells die or "decide" to split. The article Telomeres and telomerase specifically point to cancer cells having the enzyme telomerase which is otherwise normally associated with germ cells and stem cells. Judging from the number of checks and factors which affect cell replication I'm left with a clear feeling that there could be lots of mechanism involved in cell immortality. Have you checked them out?
