Mastery matters #1: Confidence-tracking on Math practice platform
Hi Khan Academy!
Just sharing some feedback on adding Confidence-tracking from LSAT practice to all practice content in your courses, at least for Math first. Here's a post making the case for optional confidence tracking. But I'd love to see this Confidence prompt on every exercise question in Math and Science. Where I'd particularly love to see this is in Mastery Challenge, Unit Test, and Course Challenges - your trinity of mixed practice diagnostic and acceleration exercises.
The reason is simple: While mastering Math from the ground up, I've found that even in a practice set where I get 100% right and can solve all questions correctly, there's some questions I struggle with a bit more than others. But the system treats all correct questions equally. If there were a confidence-tracker, I could say something like "not sure" and get correct, and while reviewing I could see this too in a lesson ("you marked this as not sure last time"). So I'd love to see some qualitative tag I can add to questions I get right too - something like "struggled a lot with this" or something amazing that all of y'all I'm sure will innovate ASAP.
So I hope this makes sense. I must add that this post emerged from my experiences getting certified for Khan Academy Math courses on Schoolhouse.world, and I love how my engagement with one platform enriches that with the other. Thanks for everything! :)
