My child's account will not allow my child to send me an email request to connect :-(

My child's account keeps prompting us for a password to 'confirm who we are' , when we click to add an email for a parent.... except the password it wants is no password i can think of! It is very confusing. We are already logged into khan academy as my daughter, and we are trying to add my as her parent. For some reason, the first email address will not receive the email, so we want to try another email.
Khan academy will not let her send me the request to connect email. something is broken here.
How do I go about getting this fixed?
