"Why can't we reset the unit tests/quizzes after messing up? I've been at this for hours and cannot get 100% because it makes me complete the test instead of just being able to start over. How are people not complaining about this more? half the time is spent just typing fake answers to skip through so i can start over. So frustrating. Why haven't they fixed this?"

This question was posted 5 years ago and it is the closest thing I've found to my current frustration, though not exactly. After reading a lot of the comments on that thread left by Khan Academy representatives I completely understand their perspective and I agree that just having a big reset button would disincentivize students from actually practicing. I think a good way to improve the situation would be to have an option or a setting which we could toggle that would remove the immediate feedback from Unit tests. That way, if you wanted to, you wouldn't know whether or not you got the answers correct until after the test. In a typical test setting this is what you would expect anyway and it would remove the frustration of knowing that you got one of the first three questions wrong. When that happens to me it's usually because I was just getting lazy after taking the test for the fifth time in a row and I just want to move quickly through it. Then all my mastery levels go down because I skip though and move on from the next 20 questions because I just want to get the %100. If I didn't know that I got it wrong until the end I would be far less likely to do this and so I would actually at least attempt the rest of the questions and lose less time because of unnecessary reviews.

The current test system of Khan Academy aims to help learners to do more practice. In unit tests, to make mistakes - or to encounter something that you don't know - is an opportunity. However, the reset button may inhibit this opportunity. I also suggest doing the tests again even if you did all of them correctly.

As to what you say, this function would bring another issue. I don't think all students will look at their mistakes after finishing the tests. Some of them will do the tests again and again until they get 10 out of 10. However, the current system compel students to look at and learn their mistakes.

That's why I think it should be a toggle switch. For me personally, it would reduce my frustration tremendously because I'm not a student and I just use Khan Academy as a hobby in a sort of way. If I'm a self motivated learner, I shouldn't be motivated to skip the rest of the questions because I got the third one wrong because I was tired to taking the test over and over and I was trying to go quickly. I just wouldn't know that I got it wrong until the end, at which point I would go back and review.

I understand what Elmar Haciyev is saying, all students wouldn't look at their mistakes after finishing tests, which is why this should be an optional feature. But if I know that at least I would benefit from this feature, it's possible that there are more people like me as well.

The current system doesn't compel me to look at my mistakes it just makes me frustrated.
