Nobody posted it publicly yet, so I will. Severe issues for the last four or five hours loading programs, talk-throughs (due to the embedded editor I assume), challenges, and projects.

(Loads indefinitely.)

GDB addressed some of the more technical details in a question as seen here:

Hopefully these issues will be fixed soon. In the meantime, try something you haven't done before on Khan Academy, like the math puzzles available on their YouTube channel, or something new from their science section. Or even take a break from the computer and go outside.

Whew! I just saw this, but before, I thought it was me! I was trying to post a project, and when I tried to (first) access on of my other projects to copy the thumbnail resizing code from there, it didn't load, and neither did any other of my projects. I'm so relieved that I'm not alone in this 😅

You're welcome. I was just noticing a lack of proper communication surrounding the problem (particularly in the discussion section) and wanted to clear things up as best I could. Feel free to post a link to this if someone shows up in the discussion section with questions about this.

I believe this may be a problem with the KA Extension. I have the Extension and my programs would not load. I opened an incognito tab (with no Extension) and had no problem viewing programs. Do the other people experiencing this problem have the Extension?

I can concur - using the KA extension they don't load, but using browser without the extension or incognito they work fine. I've pinged Matthias to let him know.

So workaround at the moment is to work on a browser without the extension until it's resolved I guess.

EDIT: Seems as though it happens to users without the extension too, so might be a KA internal issue after all and not the KA extension.

While the extension seems to be the problem at the moment (so far as I can tell), the situation is not stable. Until about an hour ago, an incognito window did not make any difference in loading.

That's what it appears to be at the moment, but there were site wide issues just a bit over an hour ago, so for now, just do what allows the CS site to function. As for Bing, that's not a browser, so I struggle to understand how that could make a difference.

For those of you with abstinence, there is a quick way to use ProcessingJS directly from if you can access the ProcessingJS library at cloudflare.
I know Khan Academy suggests using the ProcessingJS files in GitHub, but I have not been able to follow the instructions there.

The only thing I've changed in the code is the canvas size, better to align it with Khan Academy. Sorry about the indentations.

Save the code below in a notepad type file, with the extension .html, for instance testpjs.html

Open a new tab in your browser, and insert the full path to your saved testpjs.html

Check that the program works by moving your mouse over the canvas. If it does you're good to go. Note that when you make changes to the program you have to save it and reload the page to see the changes.

If you don't want to include animations you can place
noLoop();
on the line after ellipse, that is at the end of draw.
I'll try to hang out in this forum in the Study group until the problems are fixed, seeing if I can help with questions about coding on your own computer without seeing the learning material on KA. But since accessing the link to ProcessingJS is only relevant for students who can go off Khan Academy, you can usually find much of what you need by searching online!

I searched Khan Academy on all my browsers, clicked it, and checked how fast the programs loaded. On all my browsers, it loads very quickly. I do not know why it works on all my browsers and not other people's browsers.

Did you just see how fast they loaded on the Hotlist? Or did you actually click on the program? It is THERE that people are having trouble

The issue appears to be fixed for me now. When Evan wrote the last message, I was able to view the projects and talk throughs in Firefox but not in Chrome - not even after clearing my cache.

However, when I cleared cache in Chrome again just now, the site behaved as normal. Just in case there are other out there who have tried clearing cache once, to no effect.

Here are the instructions that worked for me:

1. Access the browser in which you use Khan Academy
2. Press Ctrl + Shift + Del
3. Set the time to Last 24 hours or All time
4. Select only Cached Images and Files
5. Click on Clear data

Haha I was just gonna post that. To everyone else, Del means delete, and if step 2 doesn't work, click the three dots at the end of the KA URL and go to settings, then go to clear browsing data, and follow steps 3-5. And thanks Evan 😁

Projects didn't load for me for a few days but the clear cached files thing worked great! Also it worked in incognito for me even before I cleared the cache, for those who are still stuck. Open an incognito window in Chrome with Shift-Ctl-N on Windows or Shift-Command-N on a Mac.

Psychic 𝓕𝓞𝓧 Productions No, I'm not aware of another way to fix the issue. If the projects still aren't loading, it's because your browser has cached some of the settings/resources needed for the projects to function properly. So until those are removed, your browser won't reload the new, fixed version of the projects page.
