I need help with my DBQ

Hello. I need help writing my contextualization paragraph  for my DBQ in AP World History Modern. Specifically I need help writing my thesis. 

Here is the prompt:Evaluate the extent to which ideological rivalries between Western countries and the Soviet bloc led to political instability or conflict in Asia in the period 1945–1989.

Here is what I wrote so far:

The end of World War II reduced many European cities to rubble. The United States of America (U.S.A) and the Soviet Union (USSR), two of the Big Three, quickly turned against each other in a dispute of how Europe should be rebuilt.  This was called the "Cold War" since the two superpowers never directly engaged in combat ("hot war").
