"Download student data" should also include "Total Learning Minutes" for each assignment instead of only scores
I love the ability to download student scores into a spreadsheet which adds them up for me, but some students get 100% on the exercises and quizzes by Googling all the answers and they typically spend very few minutes doing the exercises, but I have to regularly go to the "Activity Overview" page to scrape the "Total Learning Minutes" data and it only tells aggregate time spent learning rather than the time per assignment. It would be very helpful to include the time learning with the scores on the data download.
That it would make it easier to:
- Spot the students who are cheating by Googling answers
- Identify the students who are finding the work too easy or really working hard. Some students claim that they are working too much and it is nice to see if that is true.
- Give grades partly based on effort rather just on scores.
- Gauge which assignments are harder and which are easier.
Grading solely based on mastery is a great idea, but some students are achieving "mastery" points through cheating by getting answers from Google and it would be nice to make it easier to identify them sooner before they bomb their offline exams in class.
Khan Academy already shows the time spent on each activity along with scores on the activity log page, so it should be a trivial coding change to add that field to the "Download student data... CSV" and include time there too.
Thanks so much!
