My students are cheating by completing an assignment an unlimited amount of times until they circle through all the problems and as a result have the answers to those problems and can subsequently complete the assignment again and simply fill in the answers without actually learning anything. It would be great if we could set a limit on the number of attempts a student can take to redo an assignment and modify as necessary.
Couldn't agree more with you. You have raised a very important point. This will be very beneficial.
Retired teacher and homeschool mom.... for every added attempt beyond 2, he loses points dependent on the number of questions. For example, if there are 10 questions, I take off 10 points for each attempt over 2. It has encouraged better study habits, note taking, etc; I also have noted that he tends to take his time on the exercises. He is a master at working the system, this was my only alternative. I was originally rewriting the exercises on paper then recording his answers under his login, it was time consuming and frustrating. This was after the first week of using Khan and hadn't realized what he was doing. It would be impossible if I was back in a traditional classroom. They really need to fix this...
